City Construction Projects

Leaf Avenue Storm Drain Improvement Project

   All remaining work is on Leaf Avenue. Work continues, no lane closures.
   

Manson Pike/Fortress Blvd Realignment Project

   Expect no lane closures as work continues to relocate the intersection of Manson Pike and Fortress Boulevard further south along Fortress and re-aligning Gresham Lane to tie in with the new intersection.

Fortress Boulevard Widening Project (Between Blaze Drive and the new Manson/Fortress Intersection)

   Expect lane closures as traffic has been reduced to two lanes (one lane each direction) on Fortress Boulevard between Blaze Drive and Chippewa Place.  The work entails the widening Fortress from a three-lane curb and gutter street to a five-lane curb and gutter street with bike lanes and sidewalks.  Work continues on Blaze adjacent to the elementary school but there will be no lane closures.

Obrien Drive Sewer Construction Project (Between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place)

   Expect lane closures through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department replaces the sewer main along Obrien Drive between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place.  There will be lane shifts and road closures on Obrien Drive.  Detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.  The road will be open to local traffic only and property owners on Obrien have been notified.  Work continues with no major changes.

Haynes Drive Safety Improvement Project (between Sulphur Springs and Regency Park Drive)

   Expect lane closures through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as traffic is reduced to one lane, with flagman, on Haynes Drive at Sulphur Springs Road.  The work entails re-aligning and widening the roadway to three lanes with a continuous turn lane and two-foot shoulder. 

Annual City Street Paving Project

   Expect delays and traffic interruptions through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as paving is underway on Highland Venue from Vine to Ash streets and Bilbro Avenue. 

Other Local Projects

    No lane closures are expected through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as the contractor for for Emerald Place Development continues work on the street connection and right turn lane at the intersection of Lascassas Pike and Garrison Cove Drive.  There will be minor traffic interruptions on Lascassas Pike.

 Atmos Energy Rehabilitation Work

   Atmos Energy continues work Sundays and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as Atmos Energy rehabilitates existing gas pipes on West Main and North and South Front streets. The type of work being performed requires digging pits in the middle of West Main Street and North and South Front streets. Sections of street will be road closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. Detour signs and other traffic controls will be in place.

XO Communication Fiber Optic Work

   XO Communications will be installing fiber optic cable along North Maple Street between College and Lytle from Sept. 7 through 10 and on Lytle between North Maple and North Church from Sept. 13 through Sept. 17. No lane closures are expected through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this week as the company installs fiber optic lines on College, North Maple, Lytle and North Church streets. The work requires pits to be dug in the sidewalk and boring underneath the pavement and sidewalk. Sections of the sidewalk will be closed and detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
